Charniak Earns All-MIAA Second Team Recognition

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. - Saint Mary's freshman Mary Charniak was named to the All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Second Team as announced by the league office on Thursday.
 
A shortstop/pitcher from Palos Hills, Illinois, Charniak had a .436 batting average in conference games in 2024, which was the fifth-highest batting average among all players in MIAA play this spring. Her total of 24 hits was the second-highest among players in the conference as she added a .483 on-base percentage in the team's 16 MIAA contests. She posted multiple hits in 10 of the team's conference games in 2024. Charniak collected two doubles, a triple, and a home run in league play with seven RBIs, five walks, and a stolen base. Her 31 total bases was tied for the eighth-most in the 2024 season among players in the MIAA.
 
It is the first All-MIAA honor of her career.
