Belles Build Lead with Jamboree Win

GRANGER, Ind. - The Saint Mary's golf team won the second MIAA Jamboree, which the Belles hosted at Knollwood Country Club, by 27 strokes over the field to build a lead one-third of the way through conference play.

Saint Mary's posted a team score of 324 to take the team victory. Hope finished second with a 351, and Calvin placed third with a score of 356. The Belles now hold a 33-stroke lead through two rounds of play with four rounds still remaining this fall.

Taylor Kehoe was the round medalist and led all players with a 77 on the day. The senior was tied for the lowest par four and par five scoring on the day, sunk a birdie on the par-five 13th hole, and led the field with 11 pars. Hunter Kehoe and Lauren Read tied for second place overall with scores of 82. The pair were both tied for fourth in par four scoring on the day and posted a combined 15 pars.

Sydney Hruskoci wrapped up the team score with an 83 to finish fifth overall. The freshman had three consecutive birdies to lead the field and was tied for the best par four scoring round of the day. Summer Stillson was the fifth player in the lineup for the Belles and shot an 88 to tie for 17th place. She had six pars and was tied for seventh in par three scoring in the round.

Hannah Finley and Maggie Sexton both competed as individuals at the round. Finley was tied for 25th with a 92 and was tied for eighth in par four scoring. Sexton shot a 96 to tie for 34th to round out the Belles' efforts.

Saint Mary's travels to Saugatuck, Michigan on Tuesday to compete in the third MIAA Jamboree of the season, which is hosted by Hope at the Ravines Golf Club starting at 1:00 p.m.
