Belles Extend Lead Over Field with Second AQ Round Win

GRANGER, Ind. - The Saint Mary's golf team shot a 317 to win the second of three 18-hole rounds which will determine the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's (MIAA) automatic qualifier to the NCAA Championships in May.
 
The Belles' 317 was 28 strokes ahead of second place Calvin (345). Hope placed third (359) while Albion rounded out the field of four teams with a 372.
 
Taylor Kehoe led all players with a five-over par 77 to earn medalist honors. The senior led the field in par three scoring and par four scoring while also turning in 10 pars on the day. She had two birdies to lead the Belles on the day. Summer Stillson finished a stroke behind Kehoe with a 78 to take second place. Stillson shared round-best honors with Kehoe with 10 pars and was second in par four scoring. The sophomore also carded a birdie in the round.
 
Hunter Kehoe posted an 80 to finish in third place. She had nine pars, a birdie, and was third in par four scoring on the day. Sydney Hruskoci wrapped up the team score with an 82 to finish fourth overall. The freshman led the field in par five scoring (-1) while posting nine pars and a birdie. Hannah Finley was the fifth golfer in the Belles' lineup and shot a 94 to finish tied for 15th. She had four pars and was tied for fifth in par three scoring on the day.
 
The Belles go into Saturday's final round of competition with a two-round total of 645. Calvin is in second place with a two-round total of 706. Hope is third (716), and Albion is fourth (736). The teams will tee off on the Knollwood Country Club East Course starting at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
