ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The No. 16 Saint Mary's golf team posted their best round of the spring with a 314 on Sunday to finish tenth (647) at the Washington University in St. Louis Spring Invite at the Tapawingo Golf Club.

 

No. 1 ranked Carlton took the team title after a 294 on Sunday gave them a 598 at the two-day event. Fourth-ranked DePauw was second with a 297 on Sunday and a tournament total of 608. No. 10 Washington University in St. Louis placed third (629). The event featured seven of the top 25 ranked teams in NCAA Division III women's golf. The Belles (647) were edged out by No. 21 Gustavus Adolphus by a single stroke for ninth place. Just nine strokes separated the sixth-place (636) team from the tenth-place finish.

 

Maria Zrodowska from NAIA member William Woods won tournament medalist honors after a one-under par 71 on Sunday gave her a two-day total of 143.

 

Hunter Kehoe led Saint Mary's with a two-over par 74 on Sunday as the sophomore finished seventh overall (150). She had three birdies on day two - on the par five fifth hole, the par five ninth hole, and the par three 15th hole. Kehoe added ten pars and did not have a score above a bogey as she played an even-par front nine.

 

Taylor Kehoe recorded a 77 and finished tied for 30th at the tournament (160). The senior co-captain had birdies on the par five fifth hole and the par three 14th hole while tallying ten pars in the round. Summer Stillson shot an 81 on Sunday and had a share of 48th with a two-day score of 166. The sophomore shot back-to-back birdies on the par five fourth hole and the par five fifth hole as she finished the front nine two-over par.

 

Lauren Read wrapped up the team's 314 with an 82 on Sunday as the junior had a two-day score of 168 (t-53rd). She had birdies on the par four third hole and the par five 16th hole. Maggie Sexton shot an 84 on day two and finished with a share of 62nd (173) as the fifth golfer in the Belles' lineup. Sexton had three birdies in the round - the par four seventh hole, the par four 13th hole, and the par three 15th hole - as she posted a two-over on the back nine.

 

Hannah Finley competed as an individual at the event and had the best tournament performance of her freshman season. Finley finished tied for 12th overall after a 77 on Sunday gave her a two-day score of 155. She had a birdie on the par five 16th hole to finish her round and posted eleven pars on the day.
