NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Department of Athletics announces the retirement of Head Women's Golf Coach Susan Holt, effective August 1, 2025. Holt was named to lead the Belles Golf program in October of 2023. In her two-season tenure with the program, Holt took the Belles to two NCAA Division III National Championship appearances. She led the program to back-to-back Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships while coaching two MIAA Most Valuable Golfers and seven All-MIAA honorees. Holt will remain with the program serving as the volunteer assistant coach. Upon Holt's retirement in August, current assistant coach Kristin Holt will take the lead of the Belles Golf program.
"The program will be left in great hands with Kristin overseeing the day to day operations" said Susan Holt, "I am excited to still play a role in practice and competition days as an assistant coach."
Kristin brings solid experience to the role after serving as the assistant coach for a year and a half - which included two MIAA Championships and two NCAA Championship tournaments. Besides her time at Saint Mary's College, Holt spent this previous year as the Assistant Women's Golf Coach at Division I Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee.
A graduate of Grace College, Holt was a three-year member of the Golf team and was a member of the 2019 NCCAA National Championship team.
Holt completed her Bachelor's Degree in Facility and Event Management in May 2021 while also earning her Master's in Business Administration.
"First and foremost, I want to thank Athletic Director Julie Schroeder-Biek for this amazing opportunity and entrusting me with taking over this program!" said Kristin Holt. "My involvement at Saint Mary's this past year and a half, as well as my time at Austin Peay, has ignited a passion in me and I am thrilled to continue to build this team and culture that already has a great foundation. The ability to continue to work with and learn from my Mom as well is something I am very excited for. Go Belles!"
