FREELAND, Mich. - Saint Mary's junior Rachael Leonard was named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for games played between April 2-8.

Leonard, a native of Hendersonville, Tennessee, was solid in a pair of wins for the Belles last week. In a road win over Olivet, she had three draw controls, three goals, and four ground balls. Saturday, she matched the program record with 10 ground balls while causing four turnovers in a home win over Trine.
