ADRIAN, Mich. - The Saint Mary's lacrosse team put up a school-record for goals in a game as the Belles claimed a 23-6 win at Adrian on Wednesday evening. The win - the team's 11th of the year - also gives the 2018 Belles a new program record for wins in a season.

The Belles struck first as Molly Stout put Saint Mary's on the scoreboard just 1:01 into play. Clare Theisen then found Kendra Osinski on the Belles' next possession, and Osinski found the back of the cage for a 2-1 lead less than two minutes into the contest. The Bulldogs responded with a goal, but Erin Doyle quickly regained a two-goal advantage for the Belles. Adrian tallied a free position goal before Kate Kelly and Doyle scored back-to-back unassisted goals for a 5-2 Saint Mary's lead.

With the score standing at 5-3 in favor of Saint Mary's after another Bulldog goal, the Belles broke the game wide open with five consecutive goals to pull ahead 10-3. Kelly had two goals, Doyle added two more, and Clare Theisen snuck a shot past the goalie to make it a seven-goal differential. Adrian pulled within six goals at 15:01 in the first half, but Saint Mary's went on to out-score Adrian 7-2 over the final 15 minutes of the period. During that stretch, the seven goals were scored by five different players as the Belles grew the lead to the point of a running clock.

After the break, Erin Doyle added a goal, Kate Kelly struck twice, and Clare Theisen converted a pass from Kelly to make it a 21-6 score. Raigan Althouse then picked up the assist on both Molly Stout's goal and Rachael Leonard's goal for a 23-6 advantage. Adrian tallied a goal with 9:28 to play, but the Belles kept the Bulldogs off the scoreboard for the final nine minutes of action for the 23-7 final score.

Erin Doyle led the Belles with six goals and two assists to go with three draw controls, and Kate Kelly set a career-high with six goals while adding an assist, eight draw controls, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers. Clare Theisen matched her career-high with five goals as she also added an assist, six draw controls, five ground balls, and three caused turnovers.

Molly Stout added two goals. Kendra Osinski had a goal and an assist, and Hanna Makowski, Zoe Gatzimos, and Rachael Leonard each scored a goal. Raigan Althouse posted two assists.

Emily Kraker made eight saves in goal for the Belles.
