FREELAND, Mich. - Four members of the Saint Mary's lacrosse team earned All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) recognition for their performances in the 2022 season.

Bridget Kane and Valentina Rubio were All-MIAA First Team honorees this spring while Gabby Belsito and Erin Dotson each picked up All-MIAA Second Team distinctions.

Kane, a senior from Binghamton, New York, earned First Team honors at the midfield position after leading the conference in points in 2022 with 52. She had 28 goals and 24 assists over the span of seven contests. A team captain, Kane was second in conference in assists (24), fourth in ground balls (24), tied for fourth in draw controls (42), tied for fifth in goals (28), and tied for seventh in caused turnovers (11). She scored the game-winning goal against Hope, assisted the go-ahead goal in a victory over Calvin, and had at least five points in each of the team's conference games of the season. The MIAA Offensive Player of the Week on April 11, the All-MIAA First Team is the first of her career and her third overall All-MIAA honor as she has twice been named to the Second Team.

Rubio, a freshman from Wayland, Michigan, earned First Team honors for her defense in her first season with the Belles. She led the conference in caused turnovers with 19 in the seven-game slate of MIAA competition. Rubio had at least two caused turnovers in five conference games in 2022. She was one of four players in the conference who had fewer turnovers than caused turnovers with a minimum of 10 caused turnovers on the year. Additionally, Rubio was the only player to have recorded at least 20 ground balls while also registering a positive caused turnover to turnover ratio. Her mark for ground balls put her eleventh overall among all players in the conference. It is the first All-MIAA honor of her career.

Belsito, a senior from El Cajon, California, earned Second Team honors on attack. She was eighth overall in the conference in total points (34) in the 2022 season. Belsito tied for fourth in assists (11) and was tied for eleventh in goals (23) through the seven-game conference season. She added 14 ground balls, nine draw controls, and seven caused turnovers. She scored the game-winning goals against both Adrian and Alma while posting multiple points in each conference game this spring. It is the second All-MIAA Second Team distinction of her career.

Dotson, a junior from Oak Park, California, was a Second Team honoree as a midfielder. She finished the conference season ninth in total points (32). Dotson was tenth in goals (24) and tied for eleventh in assists (8) during the season. Additionally, she was tied for fourteenth in ground balls (17) and held sole possession of fourteenth in draw controls (25). It is the second All-MIAA honor of her career after having earned a First Team nod last spring.

Saint Mary's has had at least four All-MIAA honorees in each possible year since 2017.
