NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The wind and rain did not dampen the Saint Mary's lacrosse team in a 20-2 win over Anderson on Tuesday evening.

Julia Gorski put the Belles on the scoreboard less than two minutes into action. A goal by Bridget Kane followed by another Gorski goal made it a quick 3-0 lead for the home side. The Ravens made it a two-goal game with 6:30 remaining in the opening quarter, but Saint Mary's posted four goals over the final four minutes of the quarter - three by Katie Haas and one by Gabby Belsito - to take over the momentum with a 7-1 lead through 15 minutes of play.

Bridget Kane tallied back-to-back goals in the span of 28 seconds for a 9-1 lead early in the second period. Sarah Frick tallied a goal with 10:34 on the clock, and back-to-back goals by Kane pushed the advantage to 12-1 as the Belles earned the running clock and never looked back. Belsito buried a shot into the back of the net a minute and a half later. The Ravens got a goal back with just over three minutes to go before halftime, but a late free position goal by Katie Haas gave Saint Mary's a 14-2 lead at the break.

Frick added another goal, and Shannon McCloskey broke into the goal-scoring column with a pair of goals in the third quarter. Erin Dotson, Belsito, and Frick each added a fourth-quarter goal for the home side as the Belles captured their largest win of the 2022 season to-date.

The Belles did not surrender a goal over the second half of play while the defense locked in over the final two periods to only allow one shot. Saint Mary's out-shot Anderson 37-6 in the contest and had a 29-19 edge in ground balls. Defensively, the Belles did not concede a single free position shot in the game.

Bridget Kane tied her career-high mark of five goals as the senior scored on each of the five shots she took in the contest. Katie Haas added four goals, an assist, four draw controls, and five ground balls. Haas also surpassed the 100 career point plateau, becoming the eighth player in program history to reach the century mark in points. Gabby Belsito posted three goals, an assist, three draw controls, and six ground balls. Sarah Frick registered her first-career hat trick with three goals on three shots while picking up two draw controls and two ground balls. Shannon McCloskey had two goals and an assist, Erin Dotson tallied three points with a goal and two assists, and Julia Gorski scored twice on just two shots. Valentina Rubio notched six ground balls, four draw controls, and a game-high and season-best four caused turnovers. Christiana Singler collected three ground balls. Alexis Fady made three saves in goal on the way to the win.

The Belles (4-3) have their third of four consecutive home contests on Saturday when they host Concordia University Wisconsin at 1:00 p.m.
