Haas, Frick Garner MIAA Athlete of the Week Honors

FREELAND, Mich. - Senior lacrosse players Katie Haas and Sarah Frick swept the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week honors on Monday, February 21.
 
Midfielder Katie Haas was tabbed as the MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week after posting six goals, an assist, seven points, four draw controls, three ground balls, two caused turnovers, and an assist in a 20-6 win over Edgewood. Four of her six goals came in the first quarter to help set the tone for the Belles in the contest. Her six goals matches her career-high total while the seven point total marks a new career-best. It is the first MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week honor of her career.
 
Defender Sarah Frick was selected as the MIAA Defensive Athlete of the Week for her all-around efforts in the team's win at Edgewood. She led all players with six ground balls and added a game-best three caused turnovers on the defensive end of the field. She also scored a goal and added an assist for two points marking the first time in her career with a goal and an assist in the same contest. It is the first MIAA Defensive Athlete of the Week recognition of her career.
 
It is the eighth time in program history the Belles have swept the MIAA Athlete of the Week honors.
