Belles Earn Decisive Win Over Scots

ALMA, Mich. - The Saint Mary's tennis team clicked on all cylinders in a 9-0 conference win over Alma on Monday afternoon.
 
Nicole Becker and Elizabeth Preister were the first duo off the courts as they claimed an 8-1 win at three doubles. Monica Davy and Megan Davy captured an 8-2 decision at one doubles. Lilly Chamberlin and Alyssa Gulli put the Belles up 3-0 with an 8-3 win at two doubles.
 
Gulli then earned an unblemished 6-0, 6-0 win at four singles as the freshman captured her 20th singles victory of the year. Preister clinched the team win with a 6-1, 6-1 final at five singles. Monica Davy barely missed a beat as she prevailed 6-1, 6-0 at one singles. Megan Davy added a 6-1, 6-0 victory of her own at two singles. Chamberlin ended on the strong side of a 6-2, 6-2 final at three singles. Lily Brandt wrapped up the 9-0 final with a 6-1, 6-3 decision at six singles for the Belles.
 
With the top-four MIAA Tournament looming next week, the Belles (13-9, 5-2 MIAA) look to close out their regular season on a high note on Wednesday when they travel to Albion for a 4:00 p.m. match.
