Personal Record Performances Push Belles Into Top 20 at NCAA Regional

HOLLAND, Mich. - Despite the cold conditions, the Saint Mary's cross country team continued to burn up the race paths in their final race of the season as each of the top four finishers for the Belles turned in personal record times.

No. 25 nationally-ranked John Carroll captured the team title with a score of 81 while No. 23 ranked Calvin was second with a 106. No. 19 ranked Hope placed third in the team standings with a 127. The Belles finished 19th in the team standings with a score of 585. It is the team's second top-20 finish in the last three seasons at the NCAA Regional race.

Hope's Anatasia Tucker was the individual winner with a 20:53.8 on the day.

Amanda Tracy crossed the finish line in a personal record time of 23:26.5 to take 87th in a field of 247 runners. Her time was 14 seconds faster than her previous PR set two weeks ago as she posted back-to-back sub-24 times for the first time in her career.

Angela Bannan ran a 24:02.5 for a new personal record time by 11 seconds as the senior edged a runner from Baldwin Wallace by three-tenths of a second to finish 110th in the field overall. Anna DeMars turned in a 24:13.0 for a 32-second PR in her final race. The senior was less than a second ahead of a runner from Franklin for 117th.

Susanna Bernovich continued the streak of personal records for the Belles as the sophomore broke below the 25-minute mark for the first time in her career. Bernovich crossed the finish line in 24:30.3 - a 32-second improvement from her previous 6k PR from two weeks ago. She was 136th overall and narrowly missed finishing three spots higher by less than a second.

Alexa Zeese wrapped up the team scoring with a 24:54.1 and beat out a runner from Mount St. Joseph by less than a second for 149th overall.

Carly Davis posted a personal record time of 25:12.6 and held off a runner from Ohio Wesleyan by four-tenths of a second for 163rd overall. Isabelle Auch crossed the finish line with a 25:22.0 for 172nd to round out the efforts by the Belles at the event.
