PRs Abound as Belles Compete at Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble

OBERLIN, Ohio - Several Belles ran personal record times while even more members of the team ran season-best times as the Saint Mary's cross country team competed at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on Saturday.
 
No. 21 ranked John Carroll captured the team title with a score of 70. Hope Murphy from Baldwin Wallace was the individual winner with a 21:54.5 to win the event by nearly 10 seconds. Saint Mary's finished 22nd in a field of 33 teams with a team score of 603 and were just three points away from 21st place Heidelberg.
 
Amanda Tracy led the way for the Belles with a personal record time of 24:19.1 as her 5k split time (20:13.1) also marked a new personal record as the junior co-captain finished 93rd. Haley Greene turned in a 24:51.9 and edged a runner from Ursinus by three-tenths of a second for 124th place. Angela Bannan moved up eight spots over the duration of the race to finish 147th with a 25:17.0. Isabelle Auch ran a personal record time of 25:27.5 for a 23-second improvement on her time at the 6k distance and finished 158th. 
 
Alexa Zeese and Susanna Bernovich finished back-to-back. Zeese was just ahead of Bernovich with a time of 25:38.4 for 161st. Bernovich crossed the line in a time of 25:38.8 for 162nd as the sophomore posted a personal record on the day. Carly Davis cut more than a minute (1:17.3) off of her 6k time from earlier this season with a 25:57.7 for 174th.
 
Brigid Hull continued the personal record trend with a 26:15.6 for 186th. Mikayla Trumbla ran a 26:25.0 for a 28-second improvement upon her 6k time from earlier this season while finishing 193rd. Julia Bobosky edged out a runner from Adrian at the finish line for 225th with a time of 27:25.9.
 
Mary Weber and Julia Crowley competed in the Open 6k Race due to a cap on the number of runners allowed to run in the early competition. Mary Weber ran a 26:04.9 to finish 62nd for a new 6k personal record time after cutting off 54 seconds off of her previous-best time. Julia Crowley turned in a 27:25.6 for 95th for her best time of the season to-date.
 
The Belles are back on the running paths in two weeks at the MIAA Championships on October 29 hosted by Alma College.
