Belles Place 28th at Loaded Augustana Interregional Invite

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Saint Mary's cross country team placed 28th in a field that featured 10 teams ranked in the top 30 nationally and 20 teams who are ranked in their respective regions in the latest USTFCCCA polls.
 
No. 1 ranked University of Chicago won the team title with a team score of 48. No. 3 ranked Wartburg (68), No. 9 Washington University in St. Louis (129), No. 26 Colorado College (148), and No. 16 Calvin (165) rounded out the top five team finishes. Evelyn Battleson-Gunkel from University of Chicago won the individual title with a time of 21:24.7.
 
Amanda Tracy paced the Belles with a time of 23:31.0 to place 76th in the field of 395 runners. Haley Greene ran a 24:13.9 and beat out a runner from Calvin for 145th. Jordan Siminski posted her highest team finish to-date as the third Saint Mary's runner to cross the finish line while taking five seconds off of her 6k time from earlier this season with a 25:02.4 for 207th.
 
Savannah Paulson ran a 25:05.6 and beat out a trio of runners by less than a second to place 211th. Cecilia Conrad turned in a time of 25:34.2 to finish one-tenth of a second ahead of a runner from Anderson and less than a second ahead of two additional runners for 250th. 
 
Susanna Bernovich crossed the finish line in a time of 25:38.0 and placed 255th. Mary Weber was 317th with a time of 26:36.1 to beat out a pair of runners from Wisconsin-Superior and Wisconsin-Stevens Point by less than a second. Isabelle Auch ran a 26:43.7 and was 325th. Ellie York posted a time of 27:28.3 to improve her 6k time by 10 seconds from earlier this season while finishing 354th on the day.
 
The Belles will be back in action on Saturday, October 28 when they compete in the MIAA Championship race, which is hosted by Hope College at Three Fires Golf Club in Holland, Michigan.
