Belles Take Third at Knight Invite as PRs Abound

The cross country team begins their race at the Calvin Knight Invitational.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Saint Mary's cross country team had an all-around stellar day at the Calvin Knight Invitational as the Belles placed third at the event after being paced by several personal record times.

No. 28 ranked Calvin captured the team title of their event with a team score of 22. Kalamazoo placed second with 62 points, and the Belles placed third with a team score of 67.

Amanda Tracy led the Belles with a personal record 5k time of 18:52 to finish eighth overall. The 5k time was the senior's first sub-19 time at the distance and was good enough for the fifth-fastest 5k time in program history.

A trio of Belles finished with one another not far behind. Cecilia Conrad led that pack with a 19:54 to finish 15th in her first collegiate 5k race for Saint Mary's. Savannah Paulson was right next to Conrad with a 19:55 for personal record and 18th place. Haley Greene posted a 5k personal record with the first sub-20 time of her collegiate career as the senior ran a 19:56 to place 19th.

Jordan Siminski ran a lifetime personal record time of 20:04 and was 21st overall in the field to wrap up the team score. Susanna Bernovich came in with a time of 20:13 to also collect a personal record while placing 23rd.

Isabelle Auch ran a 21:14 and placed 49th in the field. Mary Weber went under the 22-minute threshold for the first time in her collegiate career. Ellie York posted a time of 22:26 and was 75th to round out the Saint Mary's performances on the day.

The Belles take a break from racing next weekend and are back to competition on Saturday, October 14 at the Augustana Interregional Invitational.
