NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Soccer freshman Danielle Escobedo (Yorba Linda, CA) and Cross Country sophomore Jordan Siminski (Crown Point, IN) were named the Belles Athletes of the Week for their performances last week.

Escobedo helped the Belles to a 1-0-1 record last week including a win over the University of Olivet, 2-0. Escobedo scored her first collegiate goal in the match to give Saint Mary's their first lead of the match in the 84th minute of the match. She also played a key role in the Belles securing their fifth and sixth shutouts of the season with the win over the Comets and a draw with Alma College on Saturday, 0-0.

Siminski and Saint Mary's competed at the Augustana Interregional Invitational on Saturday amongst some of the top teams in the nation. She only passed people the entire race in what was an incredible day for the sophomore as she led the Belles and finished with a time of 24:35.3. Her time was a season best by an outstanding 27 seconds.

Escobedo and Belles Soccer continue MIAA play this week with three matches while Siminski and Belles XC prepare for the MIAA Championships on November 2.
