NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Basketball senior Julia Schutz (Dyer, IN) was named the Belles Athlete of the Week for her performances last week.

Schutz helped lead the Belles to a 1-1 record last week including their first MIAA victory of the season with a 65-54 win over Kalamazoo College. Schutz averaged 19 points across the two games while recording her second 20 point game of the season against Kalamazoo. She would also average 5.5 rebounds per game and two assists per game. 

She would shoot a combined 14-30 from the field in the two games, going 6-15 against Kalamazoo and 8-15 in the loss to Alma College. This was her first time shooting above 40% in back-to-back games since early November. Schutz also went 7-12 from the free throw line against the Hornets, her third time attempting 12 free throws in a game this season.

Schutz and the Belles kick off a three match road trip on Wednesday with a trip to the University of Olivet with tipoff at 6pm. The trip also includes stops at Adrian College on Saturday and Albion College on January 22. Saint Mary's returns home on January 25 when they host Calvin University.
