NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Lacrosse sophomore attacker Rachel Speckhard (Munster, IN) was named the Belles Athlete of the Week after her dominating performance in the Belles season opener.

Speckhard led the Belles to a 20-2 win over Spalding University in their season opener on Saturday. She would go on to score a career high six goals while going a perfect 6-6 in shots. She would get her first two goals in the back of the net less than five minutes into the game. She would then secure her hat-trick with a goal at the nine minute mark, just six minutes into the game. Speckhard would also go on to score two more times in the first quarter alone, including two goals less than 20 seconds apart. She would finish her day with a goal in the third quarter at the 3:56 mark to secure her double hat-trick.

Speckhard and the Belles return to action on Thursday, March 6 as they take on Indiana Tech.
