
NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary's College senior Valentina Rubio (Wayland, MI) and Tennis junior Emma Kealy (Hudson, OH) were named Belles Athletes of the Week for their performances over the last week.
Rubio would record a career high six goals for the Belles in their 16-6 win over the University of Wisconsin Stevens-Point on Saturday, adding an assist as well. She would lead the game with 14 shots and 11 shots on goal. Rubio would also lead the match with nine ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Kealy would help lead the Belles to a dominating conference win over Trine University, 6-1. She was a part of a dominant 6-1 victory at number one doubles. Kealy would then go on to easily handle her opponent at the number two singles match, 6-1 6-0.
Rubio and the Belles hit the road for back-to-back matches at Alma College on April 5 and at Adrian College on April 8. They then return home on April 12 to host Trine.
Kealy and the Belles look to continue their win streak with road matches at the University of Olivet on April 5 then go straight to take on Alma on April 6. They then return home to host Albion College for Senior Day on April 12.
