FREELAND, Mich. - Saint Mary's junior Mandi Hettinger was named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) softball pitcher of the week for her performance leading up to April 5.
A native of Winamac, Indiana, Hettinger helped the Belles to a 4-0 conference record on the week. She went 2-0 in the pitching circle with a 1.17 earned run average, a complete-game shutout, four strikeouts, and zero walks. She needed just 58 pitches to earn the win against Olivet and 81 pitches in a seven-inning complete game win over Alma.
It is her first MIAA Softball Pitcher of the Week honor this season and third of her career.
