FREELAND, Mich. - Saint Mary's freshman McKenna Shoupe was named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Softball Position of the Week for her performance leading up to April 26.

 

A native of Edwardsburg, Michigan, Shoupe posted a combined 5-for-8 hitting effort in a doubleheader split against Kalamazoo on Sunday. The freshman outfielder had a triple, two runs batted in, two runs scored, and tallied an .875 slugging percentage. She added two stolen bases and made a pair of putouts in center field.

 

It is the first MIAA Player of the Week honor of her career.
