Jamie Young was named co-head coach of the Saint Mary's softball program in August 2021.

A four-year starter for the Belles at shortstop, she became one of the first two players in program history to earn All-MIAA honors in each of her four seasons on the team. She was twice named Third Team All-Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association and earned First Team All-Region honors in her senior season as the lone shortstop on the Central Region First Team. She went on to be named Third Team All-American at shortstop in 2018 after helping lead the Belles to their first MIAA regular season title and first NCAA Tournament appearance. She set the program's all-time records in career hits (231), career runs scored (171), single-season hits (69), and single-season runs scored (50). Her .416 career batting average ranks fifth all-time for the softball program. Additionally, she became just the second player all-time in MIAA history to amass more than 100 hits in conference play and set the conference record for hits in a single season with 32 against league opponents in 2018.

Jamie has been part of the Saint Mary's coaching staff since the 2019 season after joining the Belles as an assistant coach.

She graduated from Saint Mary's in 2018 with a double-major in both history and humanistic studies and a minor in gender and women's studies.
