RIVER FOREST, Ill. - Saint Mary's College STUNT competed in the programs first ever competition on Saturday. The Belles would sweep their two matches, taking down Concordia University Chicago, 8-4, and Buena Vista University, 8-2. Saint Mary's is now 2-0 on the season while the Cougars and Beavers both fell to 0-1.
Saint Mary's vs Concordia Chicago
The Belles and Cougars would trade points in the first half but it was a 3-2 lead going into the break for Saint Mary's. They would then dominate the second half and outscore the Cougars 5-2 to take home the programs first ever victory, 8-4.
Saint Mary's vs Buena Vista
The Belles would come out and dominate the Beavers in the first half, leading 4-1 at the break. They would then continue to pull away from Buena Vista and earn a Saturday sweep with an 8-2 victory.
UP NEXT FOR THE BELLES
Saint Mary's will host the first ever STUNT event on campus next weekend as they host the Crossroads Rumble on February 15-16. Nine other programs will visit the Angela Athletic & Wellness Complex while Saint Mary's will compete four times. The Belles kick off the Rumble on Saturday at 10:15 am against Heidelberg University and will take on Malone University at 1pm. The Belles will then take on the University of Michigan at 12:45pm on Sunday and will finish the Rumble against Concordia Chicago at 3:30pm.
