Belles Season Ends in National Quarter Finals Appearance

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Saint Mary's College STUNT would go 1-2 in their first Nationals appearance, seeing their inaugural season come to a close in the Quarter Finals on Thursday evening. The Belles would defeat Concordia University Chicago in game one, 13-4, fall to George Fox University in game two, 13-1, and fall to Misericordia University in the Quarter Finals, 10-2.

Saint Mary's vs Concordia Chicago

Saint Mary's and Concordia would split the first quarter, going into the first break tied at one. The Belles would take the lead going into halftime, earning two points in the second quarter while the Cougars would earn one point from a split in round three. 

The Belles would start the second half on fire, taking points in all four rounds while the Cougars would split the first round, giving Saint Mary's a 7-3 heading into the fourth quarter. Saint Mary's would come out and take all six possible points in the fourth quarter while only allowing one, taking home the programs first Nationals Victory, 13-4, over Concordia Chicago.

Saint Mary's vs George Fox

George Fox would take an early 1-0 lead in the first quarter as the Belles would only compete in one routine. The Bruins would add two more points in the second quarter in rounds one and three to go into halftime with a 3-0 lead.

George Fox would earn a point in every round of quarter three while Saint Mary's would add a point in the first round. The Bruins would head into the final quarter with a 7-1 lead. George Fox would take all six points in the first two rounds of the fourth quarter to secure their 13-1 victory.

Saint Mary's vs Misericordia

Misericordia would take two points in the first quarter in rounds two and four to take an early lead. The teams would split points in the second quarter, the Cougars taking round two while the Belles took round three, sending them into halftime with a 3-1 score in favor of Misericordia.

Misericordia would take three points in the third quarter to extend their lead, but not before Saint Mary's was able to steal a point in round two. The Cougars would lead 6-2 heading into the final quarter. The Cougars would come out and take one point in round one before sweeping round two to eliminate the Belles.

 

Saint Mary's season comes to an end with a 10-9 overall record in their inaugural season. The season saw the Belles win the programs first ever game on February 8 against Concordia Chicago while also winning their first Nationals game against the Cougars Thursday morning. The Belles also took home the Mid-America Central Conference title after going a perfect 5-0 in conference.
