Paradiso Garners Second Team All-MIAA Accolade

FREELAND, Mich. - Saint Mary's junior basketball player Giavanna Paradiso was one of 12 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) women's basketball players to garner All-MIAA honors for the 2019-20 season.
 
A native of Columbus, Ohio, Paradiso finished first among all players in the conference in free throws made (67) and free throw percentage (82.7 percent). A forward for the Belles, she was third in total points (241) and scoring average (15.1 points per game) in the league in the 2019-20 season. Paradiso was fifth in total rebounds (113) to average 7.1 boards per game. The MIAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week on December 16, she committed the second-fewest fouls among conference players who competed in at least 400 minutes of MIAA play this winter. Paradiso had three double-doubles in conference competition and posted at least ten points in 12 league contests.
 
The All-MIAA selection is the second of the team co-captain's career. Paradiso is the seventh player in program history to earn multiple All-MIAA honors in a career.
