NCAA Announces 2019 Golf Championship Field

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Saint Mary's golf team will participate in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament for the ninth time in program history.

The NCAA formally announced the 25 teams and six individuals that will participate in the 2019 NCAA Division III Women’s Golf Championships last night.

When/Where:
The championships will be conducted May 14-17 at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas. The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and Harris County-Houston Sports Commission will serve as hosts.

How the event runs:
The championships will consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently. Following 54 holes of competition, the field will be cut to the top 15 teams and top six individuals not on one of those teams to compete the final day. In the team competition, the low four scores from each team for each day will count in the team’s total score.

The 2019 NCAA Championships will be the Belles' ninth appearance in the national tournament. Saint Mary's also competed in the championship event in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2018. The Belles have finished fourth at the NCAA Championships on three occasions (2003, 2010, 2011) for the highest team placement by and MIAA member at the event.
