Belles Capture Olivet's Kyle Campbell Invitational Title

MARSHALL, Mich. - The Saint Mary's golf team fired a 317 and won the Olivet College Kyle Campbell Invitational by 16 strokes at the Medalist Golf Club.
 
The Belles had a two-day score of 639 and were 16 strokes ahead of No. 6 ranked DePauw's total of 655 after the Tigers shot a 324 on day two. Host Olivet placed third with a 670 at the two-day event.
 
Hunter Kehoe was the tournament medalist after a 77 on Saturday gave the junior a two-day total of 151. She led the field in par five scoring for the tournament with an even score and posted a tournament-best 27 pars over 36 holes of play. Sydney Hruskoci matched Kehoe's score on Saturday with a 77 and was tied for sixth overall with a 161. The sophomore was tied for third in par four scoring and had four birdies at the tournament.
 
Summer Stillson shot an 81 on Saturday and finished tied for 12th with a 164 over the weekend. She had an eagle on the second hole - a par four, 345-yard hole - and completed the event with 17 pars. Hannah Finley wrapped up the team score with an 82 and also tied for 12th with a 164. The sophomore was tied for fourth in par three scoring and had 20 pars over the two days of play. Hillary Ziemba was the fifth golfer in the Belles' lineup and shot an 89 while finishing tied for 24th with a 172. She had two birdies on the weekend.
 
Erin Bennett, MacKenzie Weaver, and Katherine Hopkins all competed as individuals. Bennett posted an 86 and was tied for 20th with a 170. The freshman had 18 pars in two round of play. Weaver shot an 89 on Saturday and tied for 22nd with a 171. She tallied 14 pars and two birdies. Hopkins carded a 91 and was tied for 32nd with a 176. She had a pair of birdies and was among the tournament leaders in par four scoring.
 

The Belles open MIAA competition on Saturday, September 14 when they travel to Alma's Pine River Country Club for the first conference jamboree of the season.
