Belles Fire 300 to Lead Field at Wisconsin-Whitewater Invite

JANESVILLE, Wis. - The Saint Mary's golf team turned in a scorching 300 as the Belles lead the field after day one of the Wisconsin-Whitewater Fall Classic.
 
The score represents the second-lowest 18-hole score in program history and is seven strokes off of the all-time best team score of 293 set by last year's squad at the MIAA Jamboree hosted at the Ravines Golf Course. Saint Mary's holds a five-stroke lead over No. 16 ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater (305). Carthage is in third with a 307.
 
Hunter Kehoe had the low round of the day with a two-under par 70 to lead the field of 96 golfers. Summer Stillson posted a 73 and is second overall. Hannah Finley matched the lowest score of her collegiate career with a 77 and holds a share of seventh place.
 
Sydney Hruskoci carded an 80 to wrap up the team score as the sophomore is tied for 17th. Erin Bennett was the fifth golfer in the Belles' lineup and had an 83 for a share of 22nd.
 
Maggie Sexton, meanwhile, is competing as an individual and shot an 84 on day one to tie for 24th overall.
 

Day two of the tournament begins at 8:30 a.m. CDT at Riverside Golf Course in Janesville, Wisconsin.
