Belles Bring Home Wisconsin-Whitewater Fall Classic Title

JANESVILLE, Wis. - The Saint Mary's golf team won the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Fall Classic with a two-day score of 609 after posting a 309 on Saturday.
 
The Belles held off Carthage (615) and No. 16 ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater (620) for their third win of the fall season.
 
Hunter Kehoe won individual tournament medalist honors after shooting a 74 on Saturday to finish the two-day event with an even-par 144 for the weekend. Summer Stillson earned all-tournament team honors after a 76 gave the junior a 149 and a share of third overall.
 
Erin Bennett had a 79 on Saturday to aid the team efforts and was tied for 17th overall with a 162. Sydney Hruskoci matched her Friday score with an 80 to complete the team score as the sophomore finished tied for 14th with a 160. Hannah Finley was the fifth golfer in the Belles' lineup and shot an 89 on day two and took home a share of 24th with a 166.
 
Maggie Sexton competed as an individual on the weekend and had a collegiate career-best 78 on day two. Her 162 for the tournament put her in a tie for 17th overall in the field of 96 golfers.
 
The Belles return to MIAA competition on Tuesday when they travel to Adrian, Michigan for the second conference jamboree of the fall. The 18-hole round will be played at Lenawee Country Club and begins at 1:00 p.m.
