Belles Place Second at MIAA Jamboree Hosted by Alma

ALMA, Mich. - The Saint Mary's golf team placed second overall after shooting a 315 on Saturday at Alma's home course of Pine River Country Club.
 
Adrian placed first with a 308. The Belles (315) were four strokes ahead of third-place Hope (319) and eight strokes ahead of host Alma (323). 
 
Katelyn Tokarz shared medalist honors with Alma's Morgan Yates as the pair both shot matching scores of 73. The one-over par score is a career-best score for Tokarz. It also marked the best score by an MIAA women's golfer at Pine River Country Club, establishing a new conference record.
 
Erin Bennett shot a 78 and tied for ninth place overall. Julia Lizak added a 79 to take home a share of 11th place in the field. Ashley Brewster wrapped up the team score with an 85 while tying for 31st place. Amanda Melling was the fifth golfer in the Belles' lineup and shot an 86 to tie for 34th.
 
Georgie Kersman competed as an individual at the event and shot an 84 to tie for 25th. The 84 is a collegiate career-best for Kersman. 
 
The next event on the schedule for the Belles is the fourth MIAA Jamboree of the season, which will be hosted by Olivet at the Medalist Golf Club on Thursday, September 29 starting at 1:00 p.m.
