Belles Sit in Eleventh at Lynn Schweizer Invitational

GRANVILLE, Ohio - The Saint Mary's golf team shot a 327 and holds eleventh place after day one at the Lynn Schweizer Invitational hosted by Denison.
 
No. 3 ranked Emory leads the field after a 291 on Saturday. No. 2 ranked Washington University in St. Louis and No. 13 Centre each shot rounds of 306 to tie for second, and No. 10 Methodist is one stroke back with a 307. Christopher Newport (311) and No. 17 Denison (311) round out the top six teams after day one.
 
Julia Lizak led the Belles with a 78 on Saturday. Colleen Hand posted an 81 in her first collegiate round. Amanda Melling turned in an 83 for the Belles, and Haley Angel wrapped up the team score with an 85. Breana Harrington shot an 87 as the fifth golfer in the Saint Mary's lineup.
 
Saint Mary's tees off day two of the tournament starting at 8:40 a.m. at the Denison Golf Club.
