NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Saint Mary's College Department of Athletics has announced that Jordan Koehler has stepped down from her position as head golf coach.

Koehler has served as the head golf coach at Saint Mary's since February 2021. Over that span of time, the Belles have sustained a high level of success on and off the golf course. The team has won 15 18-hole rounds in both non-conference and MIAA competition since the start of Koehler's tenure. Saint Mary's captured the 2021 and 2022 MIAA NCAA Automatic Qualifying bid to earn NCAA Division III Championship berths both years. Additionally, the Belles saw a significant improvement in their team scoring average from Koehler's first season (327.5) with Saint Mary's through this fall (319.56).

Individually, Saint Mary's golfers have garnered MIAA Athlete of the Week accolades nine times since the spring of 2021. Four different student-athletes have earned All-MIAA First Team or Second Team distinctions six times over that same span of time. Koehler also mentored the program's second First Team All-American in her first season as Hunter Kehoe finished tied for sixth at the 2021 NCAA Championship.

Academically, the Saint Mary's golf team has been recognized in each of the last two years as a Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-Scholar Top 25 team. The 2021-22 squad boasted the ninth-highest cumulative grade point average in Division III golf, and the 2022-23 team registered the third-highest GPA in Division III. Moreover, three members of the team have earned WGCA All-American Scholar status in 2021, 2022, and 2023 for nine total honors.

"Working with the student-athletes at Saint Mary's has helped me develop into a more confident coach and has set me up for success in this next chapter," said Koehler. "I'm proud of the growth and accomplishments we've had both on the course and in the classroom, and the culture these young women have created will only continue to foster an environment for them to thrive as student-athletes. I am grateful to have been their coach, and I will be cheering them on in all facets of life."

Koehler has accepted a position as the assistant women's golf coach at the University of Denver.
