GRAND LAKE, Colo. - Kate Kelly and Kendra Osinski were named to the 2019 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Zag Sports Academic Honor Roll while the Saint Mary's lacrosse team collectively garnered as IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad status for the 2018-19 academic year.

Student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater in order to qualify for the IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Roll. Senior Kate Kelly and junior Kendra Osinski were two of 653 NCAA Division III women's lacrosse players to be recognized with the honor for this past academic year. Kelly repeats on the list after earning the accolade last year while it is the first such honor for Osinski.

As a team, the Belles joined 312 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA as Academic Honor Squads for 2018-19. A women’s lacrosse team must have posted a 3.0 or higher team GPA for the academic year in order to be recognized. In Division III alone, 152 teams were named as honor squads. Saint Mary's was one of six MIAA programs to pick up the team academic distinction. Adrian, Alma, Calvin, Hope, and Kalamazoo were also named as IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squads for 2018-19. It is the sixth consecutive year the Saint Mary's lacrosse team has garnered the team academic accolade.

"We are proud to be recognized by the IWLCA with the Academic Honor Squad for the sixth straight year," said head coach Amy Long. "I am honored to work with such an exceptional group of women who support each other on and off the field to achieve our athletic and academic goals."
