NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Saint Mary's lacrosse team built an 8-0 lead through the first 15:45 of play and never looked back in a 19-7 conference win over visiting Alma on Wednesday evening.

Erin Doyle and Molly Mullett each had two goals, and Sarah Frick turned defense into offense as she registered her first goal of the 2021 season as the Belles pulled ahead by a five-goal margin through the first ten minutes of action. Doyle posted back-to-back goals, and Mullett added to her goal total for the 8-0 lead with 14:15 remaining in the opening period. The Scots got on the scoreboard with under 12 minutes to play in the half, but Mullett and Doyle continued to be a potent combination for the Saint Mary's offense as the pair each added another goal.

Alma found the back of the net with a goal a minute after Doyle's, but Doyle and Katie Haas closed out the half with five more goals for Saint Mary's as the Belles took a 15-2 lead into the halftime break.

The second half saw the Scots out-score the Belles by a 5-4 margin, but the Saint Mary's lead was too large as the Belles captured the 19-7 win. Julia Gorski found the back of the net early in the half while Doyle posted two more goals and Mullett buried another goal of her own for Saint Mary's.
