FREELAND, Mich. - Saint Mary's sophomore Molly Mullett and junior Bridget Kane swept the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week accolades for games played prior to May 3.

Mullett, a native of Ada, Michigan, was tabbed as the MIAA Defensive Athlete of the Week after leading the team in draw controls and ground balls while causing two turnovers as the Belles won the 2021 MIAA Tournament. In the championship game alone, Mullett came away with eight draw controls as Saint Mary's defeated Hope for the program's first NCAA Championship Tournament berth.

Kane, a native of Binghamton, New York, was selected as the MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week after she led the team in total points as Saint Mary's captured the 2021 MIAA Tournament title. Kane had six goals, a team-high seven assists, five draw controls, three ground balls, and three caused turnovers as the Belles won their first MIAA Tournament Championship.

It is the first MIAA Athlete of the Week recognition for each student-athlete in their respective careers.
