FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Lacrosse fell to #9 Indiana Tech on Thursday night, 15-5. The Belles fall to 1-1 on the year while the Warriors improve to 2-2.
Saint Mary's got off to a hot start in the first quarter as they took a quick 2-0 lead off of goals from sophomores Rachel Speckhard (Munster, IN) and Cate Krema (Western Springs, IL). Indiana Tech would go on an 8-0 run before freshman Annabelle Spruill (Brookhaven, GA) would score her first goal of the night. The Warriors would add another and go into halftime with a 9-3 lead. Sophomore Lana Skibins (Granger, IN) added an assist in the half.
Saint Mary's would come out hot to open the second half, as Spruill would score two more goals to secure her hat-trick with an assist from Skibins. The Belles offense would go cold as Indiana Tech would secure the win, 15-5.
Senior goalkeeper Emma Zmudzinski (Granger, IN) would make a career high 17 saves on 38 shots. The Belles would record 15 shots on the night.
