ANDERSON, Ind. - The Saint Mary's soccer team captured a 1-0 win at Anderson University as Katie Harrington scored her first collegiate goal for the Belles.

Rose Stackhouse had an early scoring chance for the Belles in the 10th minute only to have the effort saved by the Ravens' goalkeeper. Less than two minutes later, Jillian Bowen played a ball ahead for Stackhouse, and the senior had a breakaway chance but sent the shot just wide of the right post. The pressure continued on the Belles' offensive end of the field. In the 14th minute of action, Maya Cole served a free kick from the right side of the field into the box. After a failed clear by Anderson, the ball found its way to Katie Harrington at the top of the 18-yard box. The freshman fired a shot toward the right post, and the effort made it past the keeper and in for the 1-0 lead.

Saint Mary's continued to apply the pressure throughout the half. Lindsey Herdsman, Maya Cole, and Sydney Skarbek all pushed ahead from the defensive end into the offensive run of play. Cole saw a shot go just over the crossbar in the 26th minute. Less than ten minutes later, Emily Stross sent a ball ahead for Stackhouse in space in the 34th minute. The senior ran onto the pass and had another breakaway chance, but her attempt at chipping a shot over the goalkeeper carried high and over the crossbar. Kara Stacey, meanwhile, closed out the half with a save as the Belles took the 1-0 lead into the break.

Saint Mary's continued to be the aggressors with Jillian Bowen and Becca Stella each having two shots on goal in the opening 21-minutes of the period. The second effort by Bowen glanced off the post and out of play while Stella had a chance blocked by a defender on what would have been a sure goal from in the box. Stacey made two more saves to keep the Ravens off the scoresheet. Sydney Skarbek and Izzi Linus each had a shot on goal saved as Saint Mary's kept looking for an insurance goal. The defense, however, locked down on the Ravens' comeback efforts as the Belles closed out the 1-0 win.

Saint Mary's out-shot Anderson by a 16-11 margin with a 9-3 advantage in shots on goal.
