HUDSONVILLE, Mich. - Saint Mary's sophomore Izzy Sherman has been named as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week on Monday, October 23.

 

A native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Sherman played a key role in the team's two conference wins on the week. She competed in all 180 minutes as the Belles defeated Olivet and Alma as the team only allowed eight combined shots on goal on the week. In a comeback win over Alma, she had assists on both the game-tying and game-winning goals.

 

It is the first MIAA Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week honor of her career.
