Belles host Titans for Cross-Town Rivalry Match

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Soccer plays host to Indiana University-South Bend on Tuesday for a cross-town rivalry match with kickoff set for 5 pm. The Belles come into the match with a 1-2 record while the Titans enter with a 1-2-1 record.

This is the second match of a two-match homestand before Saint Mary's heads to Franklin, Indiana on September 21 for a single match before they return home for two matches.

The Belles offense has been on fire this season as they have totaled 67 shots this season and are averaging 22.3 shots per game, ranking them 35th in NCAA Division III in shots and 32nd in Division III in shots per game. They have also been averaging 12.67 shots-on-goal per game, ranking 21st in Division III. Sophomore Margaret Slove has been extremely active in the attack, leading the team with two goals after her brace against Knox College on Saturday. She averages 6.33 shots per game, ranking her 15th in Division III. 

The Saint Mary's defense has also played a massive role for the team, allowing just three goals across their first three matches including a shutout against Knox. The team has allowed just 14 total shots with nine being on target. Junior Izzy Sherman has been a rock in the middle for the Belles while freshmen Sofia Delinck and Danielle Escobedo are making themselves known out wide on both the defensive end and the offensive side of the ball as well.

IUSB Titans

IUSB comes into the match after their first win of the season on Saturday against Indiana University Columbus, 3-0. The Titans opened the season with back-to-back losses against Huntington University and Anderson University while recording a draw against Manchester University. Haylie Rodriguez leads the Titans with two goals while Olivia Enyeart leads the team with 16 shots and nine shots on goal. Rylee Cotton has started in goal for IUSB in all four matches, allowing six goals while making 20 saves on 26 shots faced.
