
FRANKLIN, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Soccer fell to Franklin College on Saturday afternoon, 1-0. The Belles fall to 2-3 on the season while the Grizzlies improve to 1-3-2.
The first half was slow for both teams as Saint Mary's led in shots 5-2 as both teams went into the half knotted at zero. No player on either side had more than one shot in the first half.
The second half continued similarly to the first. And while the Belles finished the match with a 15-7 lead in shots and a 5-3 advantage in shots on goal, the Grizzlies used a 68th minute goal to take the 1-0 lead and would hold until the end of the match.
Belles senior midfielder Grace Barresi led the team with three shots while seniors Izzi Linus and Mary Kaczynski and sophomore Margaret Slove all recorded two. Five different Belles each recorded one shot-on-goal. Junior goalkeeper Caroline Miklavicic made two saves while facing seven shots.

Saint Mary's returns home for back-to-back matches next week, beginning on Wednesday with a matchup against Anderson University with kickoff slated for 6pm. The Belles finish the quick homestand on Saturday with a battle against Manchester University with kickoff set for 11am.
