
ALBION, Mich. - Saint Mary's College Soccer fell to Albion College on Tuesday night, 2-0. The Belles fall to 7-5-1 (2-2-1 MIAA) while the Britons improve to 3-8-3 (2-3-1 MIAA).
Saint Mary's and Albion played a very even and defense heavy first half with only seven total shots. But the Britons were able to take a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute off of an own goal by the Belles coming from an Albion corner kick.
Both offenses started to find a rhythm in the second half but both teams had trouble converting. Until the Britons found the back of the net in the 86th minute to put the Belles away and secure their win.
Saint Mary's outshot Albion 13-8 and 7-5 in shots on goal. Sophomore Margaret Slove (Spring Grove, IL) led the team with five shots while senior Grace Barresi (St. Charles, IL) recorded three. Barresi along with junior Izzy Sherman (Fort Wayne, IN) and freshman Taylor London (Orland Park, IL) recorded two shots on goal. Senior goalkeeper Riley Lindsey (Valparaiso, IN) tallied four saves on the night.

Saint Mary's heads back on the road on Thursday to take on Adrian College in a make up from the originally scheduled October 12 match, kickoff is set for 6pm. The Belles then return home for the final two regular season games as they host Trine University on Saturday at 1pm and Hope College on October 30 at 4pm.
