NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Soccer fell to Trine University on Saturday, 3-0. The Belles fall to 7-7-1 (2-4-1 MIAA) while the Thunder improve to 9-4-3 (4-2-1 MIAA).
Both teams traded possession back and forth throughout the first half, but it was Trine who was able to strike first. The Thunder converted a penalty in the 13th minute. Trine outshot Saint Mary's 5-2 in the first half.
The Thunder kept momentum going into the second half as they slotted their second goal in the 48th minute. Trine would then extend their lead in the 70th minute for their third and final goal of the day.
Freshman Taylor London (Orland Park, IL) led the team with two shots while four other Belles recorded a shot. London, along with, senior Katie Harrington (Granger, IN), sophomore Margaret Slove (Spring Grove, IL) and freshman Isabella Kreydich (Tinley Park, IL) all tallied shots on goal. Senior goalkeeper Riley Lindsey (Valparaiso, IN) made three saves on the day.
