Farkhod Kurbonov, was named the Head Coach of the Saint Mary’s Mary’s Soccer program in 2023, moves into his 3rd season at the helm of the Belles. The Belles are 15-30-5 during his tenure, including the program's first postseason berth since 2008.
During his time at Saint Mary's, he has coached two All-MIAA Players along with four MIAA Players of the Week. His teams have also earned United Coaches Team Academic Awards in each year of his tenure.
In his third season (2024), he helped lead the Belles to a 7-9-1 overall record, 2-5-1 MIAA record, and helped lead the Belles to their first postseason trip since 2008 as they faced Trine in the first round of the MIAA Tournament. He also coached Grace Barresi to the All-MIAA Second Team and two MIAA Offensive Players of the Week and one MIAA Defensive Player of the Week. In 2024, the Belles improved offensively while increasing their shots per game by over three shots and their in conference shots per game by almost two shots per game. They also took more corner kicks overall and in conferance and recorded more shutouts while recording three shutouts in conference, the most in confere for the program since 2014.
In his second season (2023), Kurbonov helped lead the Belles to best season for the program since 2013 as they finished with an 8-8-1 overall record, 2-5-1 MIAA record. The Belles finished just one game outside of the conference playoffs. He also coached Margaret Slove to the All-MIAA Second Team and an MIAA Defensive Player of the Week. In 2023, the Belles had their lowest goals-against average since 2013 while shaving off over one goal per game allowed in contests. The Belles shut out five opponents while also allowing the fewest goals in a season since 2012 and the fewest shots on goal in over 20 years.
Kurbonov started his Saint Mary's career in 2023.
Prior to coming to Saint Mary’s, Kurbonov was Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Marian University’s Ancilla College of the NJCAA, managing all facets of the program. He led the program to a top 10 ranking in the NJCAA Division II National Rankings. In his time at Ancilla, his teams would make the playoff semifinals in all three years. He would also coach 15 All-Conference members along with 14 All-Region members and one All-Amercian. He would also coach six Players of the Week and help his team earn nine NJCAA All-Academic selections as well as 15 Conference All-Academic members.
He has also spent time as the Associate Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Holy Cross College (2018-19) and as an assistant at Delta State University (2016-18).
As a student-athlete, Kurbonov started for Holy Cross College where he played as a prominent member of the Saints attack.
Kurbonov holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Communications and Business with a Marketing Minor from Holy Cross. He also earned his Master of Science degree in Sports and Human Performance from Delta State.
