TEMPE, Ariz. - The Saint Mary's tennis team and several tennis student-athletes were honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) with academic accolades for the 2018-19 year.
The Belles tennis team was one of 125 NCAA Division III women's programs to earn the 2019 ITA All-Academic Team recognition. In order to qualify for the honor, a team must be an ITA member and have a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). The Saint Mary's team registered a 3.422 grade point average to earn the accolade. It is the third consecutive year and fourth time in the past five years the program has been on the ITA All-Academic Team list.
Additionally, five members of the squad garnered ITA Scholar-Athlete status for their performance in the classroom. Elizabeth Preister, Lily Brandt, Monica Davy, Alyssa Gulli, and Jenna Jaskolka each posted a year-long grade point average of 3.5 or above while also having earned a varsity letter in 2018-19.
