Seven Student-Athletes, Team Honored by Intercollegiate Tennis Association

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Saint Mary's tennis team and seven members of the program were all recognized with academic awards from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for the 2019-20 academic year.
 
The tennis team was named as an ITA All-Academic Team after posting better than a 3.20 cumulative grade point average for the past year. The program posted a 3.595 cumulative grade point average for the year. It is the fourth consecutive year and fifth time in the past six years the program has been on the ITA All-Academic Team list.
 
Meanwhile, several individuals were honored as ITA Scholar-Athletes for having at least a 3.5 grade point average for the academic year. Nicole Becker, Lillian Chamberlin, Alyssa Gulli, Trinity Marshall, Kathleen McLeod, Concetta Ogden, and Annika Smith were all recognized for their individual academic success as ITA Scholar-Athletes in 2019-20.
 
"I am very proud of our team's dedication to their academic work along with their accomplishments in their sport," said head tennis coach Dale Campbell. "Our entire team has performed well in the classroom. To have seven team members earn Scholar-Athlete honors and the entire team be recognized as an All-Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association is extraordinary!"
 
According to the ITA, 1,058 Division III Women student-athletes were named as ITA Scholar-Athletes and 175 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
