Belles Shut Out Scots

ALMA, Mich. - The Saint Mary's tennis team earned a 9-0 win over Alma in a conference match on Saturday afternoon.
 
Lucy Chamberlin and Alayna Campbell were the first duo off the courts as the pair captured an 8-1 win at one doubles. Kalyn Borger and Meredith Heckert were 8-4 victors at the two doubles flight, and Kathleen McLeod and Nikki Rust teamed up for an 8-3 win at three doubles for the 3-0 team lead.
 
Meredith Heckert dropped just a single game on her way to a decisive 6-1, 6-0 decision at three singles. Lucy Chamberlin clinched the team win with a 6-4, 6-1 one singles victory. Alayna Campbell was not far behind with a 6-1, 6-3 win at two singles for the Belles. Kathleen McLeod captured a 6-2, 6-3 win at four singles. Nikki Rust prevailed 6-1, 6-4 at six singles. Kalyn Borger earned a 6-2, 6-3 victory at the five singles flight to give the Belles the 9-0 team win.
 
In exhibition play, Katie Hunter outlasted her opponent by an 8-6 score at seven singles.
 
The Belles (5-8, 2-1 MIAA) continue a stretch of conference matches when they host Trine on Tuesday, April 5 at 4:00 p.m.
