HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The Saint Mary's tennis team took a commanding 9-0 win over Illinois Tech in their South Carolina debut on Sunday afternoon.

Emma Kealy and Anna Gardner were the first pair off the court with an 8-2 victory at two doubles. Hannah Gerner and Grace Clearwater followed suit with an 8-2 win of their own at three doubles. Alayna Campbell and Evelyn Demblans-Dechans fought off match point three times in a thrilling 8-7 (7-3) win at one doubles for the Belles.

Alayna Campbell then claimed a 6-0, 6-1 decision at one singles. Anna Gardner clinched the win with a 6-1, 6-0 win at four singles. Evelyn Demblans-Dechans came off the court with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at three singles. Emma Kealy prevailed 6-3, 6-0 at two singles. Hannah Gerner won a 6-0, 6-1 match at five singles. Katie Hunter then wrapped up the sweeping victory with a 6-1, 6-1 win at six singles for the Belles.

Saint Mary's (7-4) are set for two matches on Monday when they face Messiah at 9:00 a.m. before taking on Carroll (Wis.) at 3:30 p.m.
