ST. JOSEPH, Mich. - Saint Mary's College Tennis fell to Goshen College on Friday night, 4-3. The Belles fall to 4-2 on the year while the Maple Leafs improve to 5-9.
Doubles
The match would start out slow for Saint Mary's as Goshen was able to claim the doubles point with wins in the numbers one and two doubles matches. The Belles would find some momentum as sophomore Anna Gardner (Houston, TX) and freshman Lanie Brant (Stevensville, MI) would take the number three doubles handly, 6-0.
Singles
While the Maple Leafs would try and put away the match by taking the number one and two singles matches, the Belles would bounce back to tie the match with three incredible singles victories. Freshman Shannon Dudy (Glenview, IL) would take the number four singles match, 6-2 6-0. Sophomore Sophia Pischalko (Granger, IN) would take home the number five singles, 6-1 6-1, while Brant would double her win total on the match with a 6-1 6-1 win at the number six singles. However, the match would come down to the number three singles where Goshen was able to pull away and win the match in two sets.

Saint Mary's will host Indiana University Kokomo on Friday, February 28, for an exhibition before opening Michigan Intercollegiate Athletics Association play on March 5 when they head north to take on Kalamazoo College.
