KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Saint Mary's College Tennis fell to Kalamazoo College in the MIAA opener on Wednesday night, 5-2. The Belles fall to 4-3 (0-1 MIAA) while the Hornets improve to 4-3 (1-0 MIAA).
Doubles
The Belles would get out to a quick start, taking both the number one and number two doubles matches to secure the doubles point. Senior Alayna Campbell (Granger, IN) and junior Emma Kealy (Hudson, OH) would take the win in at number one, 6-4, while sophomore Sophia Pischalko (Granger, IN) and freshman Shannon Dudy (Glenview, IL) would take the win at number two, 6-2.
Singles
Kalamazoo would come out and take an early lead in singles after taking the number one, two and three matches. Saint Mary's would get back on the board as Dudy would take down her opponent in the number four match, 6-1 6-4. The Hornets would bounce back and take the numbers five and six singles to secure the win in the conference opener.
UP NEXT FOR THE BELLES
Saint Mary's heads south for spring break as they will play four matches across four days in Hilton Head, SC. The Belles start off the trip with two matches on Sunday, March 9, taking on Lawrence Tech University at 8:30am and then taking on Georgetown College at 2pm. They will then take a day off before facing Division II opponent West Liberty University on March 11 at 1pm before finishing the trip with a match against Lake Forest College on March 12 at 5pm.
