Belles Finish Spring Trip Undefeated with Win Over Foresters

HILTON HEAD, SC. - Saint Mary's College Tennis defeated Lake Forest College, 5-2, on Wednesday night to conclude their spring trip and finish with a 3-0 record. The Belles improve to 7-3 on the year while the Foresters fall to 12-3 on the year.

Doubles
Saint Mary's came out the gate firing as they would take the first two doubles matches to win the doubles point. Sophomore Anna Gardner (Houston, TX) and freshman Lanie Brant (Stevensville, MI) would make quick work of their opponent at the number three doubles, 6-0. Sophomore Sophia Pischalko (Granger, IN) and freshman Shannon Dudy (Glenview, IL) would handle their opponent at the number two doubles, 6-2. Lake Forest would go on to take the number one doubles match.

Singles

The Foresters would start off singles play by taking the number three match before Brant would come out and take down her opponent at the number six singles, 6-3 6-2. Lake Forest would take the number one match but Saint Mary's would come back and win the next three matches to secure their 5-2 victory. Dudy would win her match at number four handly, 6-0 6-2, before junior Emma Kealy (Hudson, OH) would hold off her opponent in a tiebreaker finish to secure the win for the Belles, 6-3 3-6 10-7. Pischalko would finish off the match with a win at the number five singles, 6-2 6-4.

UP NEXT FOR THE BELLES

Saint Mary's returns from their spring trip only to head back on the road for back-to-back matches on March 21 and 22. The Belles will travel to Carthage College on the 21st with the match scheduled to start at 6pm before they head to North Park University on the 22nd for a noon match.
